PROJECT BRIEF
In 2012, CCTV was interested in public welfare programs and asked EastNet for help. We recommended You Deserve It to CCTV after research with detailed analysis of the program and its social impact. CCTV would like to move forward to introduce the program and we helped our client buy the copyright from Red Arrow Germany.
OUR APPROACH
As a third-party consultant, EastNet organized meetings for CCTV and Red Arrow to negotiate cooperation. We set up conference calls to help CCTV study format bible with the format producer, conducted training sessions on format localization, including discussion on selection of host, competitor, beneficiary and guest, script design, layout design, question collection, utilization of game engine, etc. We invited the flying producer and lighting engineers to CCTV to guide pilot shooting, give advice on how to utilize game engine, set lighting, train host, guest, competitor and beneficiary and how to make the post production. EastNet also ran pilot testing for the program, guided revision and improvements, and brought positive feedback after show launch.
RESULTS
The program has been broadcasted for three seasons and 52 episodes, with the amount of welfare assistance payment as high as 13 million RMB, and became a milestone of Chinese television public welfare programs. The program was praised by central leadership for its positive social influences, and also received high ratings and market shares among the public.
